It will be a CD/DVD; the DVD explains why and how I came to do this project. It's called Dancing on the Water . And all I can tell you is that it's way more beautiful than I ever dreamed it could be. To celebrate the release of Dancing on the Water, I'm having a party and concert at the Artscenter in Carrboro on Saturday night, November 3rd. I will be performing lots of the songs from the new work, some of which I wrote. Most of the musicians from the project will be at the Artscenter to help celebrate: *The Stillhouse Bottom Band* Mark Weems ? guitar (also Little Windows, the Cave Dwellers) Bob Head ? banjo, bass, mandolin (also Big Medicine) Alan Julich ? banjo, bass *The Happyjoy Band* Robert Sledge ? bass, guitar (played in Ben Folds Five) Will McFarlane - guitar Kevin Brock ? drums (Keyboard to be announced) *Special Guests:* Grace ? mystic poet from Mt. Shasta , CA Richard Shulman ? keyboards (Asheville , NC) Andrea Nell ? vocals *Cluckin' A* Terry Burtyk - banjo Zack Mondry ? bass Charley Pennell ? guitar *The Cluckeneers * Richard Pertz ? banjo (Brooklyn , NY) Bill Parsons ? guitar (Remsen, NY) The music will be both acoustic and electric. AMAZINGLY ENOUGH, tickets (which are $15) are available now. You can get them three ways: 1) the Artscenter box office; 2) online from etix ( http://www.etix.com/ticket/servlet/onlineSale?action=selectPerformance&cobrand=white&performance_id=603644 ) 3) buy them from me personally (919-932-3037). I could probably have them delivered! Or, mail a check to: 460 Bayberry Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27516. I've got more excitement and love about this music more than I have had about anything before. I would love for you to join me and these amazing artists for a night to remember. (Attached is a flier about the upcoming event.) Christopher writes: My dad's concert/album release party is this Saturday night at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro. The 300+ auditorium is nearly sold out. If you have any interest in old-time bluegrass music, or homegrown music in general, I think you will thoroughly enjoy yourself. Walk-up tickets will probably not be available, however, so if you're planning to come, you'll need to get them from The ArtsCenter (www.artscenterlive.org) ASAP. Whether you have tickets or not, the full-length documentary "Following the Road: Music and Life Lessons with A.C. Bushnell" will be shown in another theatre of The ArtsCenter complex. At this point, the show looks like it will sell out with the bulk of the tickets accounted for, and two major (local) media appearances by my dad yet to happen this week. The first is an article that will run in tomorrow's issue of The Independent. Then on Thursday, my dad will be on the popular NPR program "The State of Things" at 12 noon (with a 9pm replay later Thursday evening). If listening to it on the radio isn't an option but I've piqued your curiosity, you can check out the show after the fact online at http://wunc.org/tsot. A team is working furiously to complete an "introductory version" of my dad's Web site. At some point in the near future, it will allow you to preview the new album "Dancing on the Water" and buy it, should you want to. If any of this sounds interesting to you, go ahead and visitwww.acbushnell.comand sign up for the mailing list so you'll receive an update on the site's progress. Thanks for reading this email about my dad's music and sharing my excitement over his debut album: *Dancing on the Water: Music and Life Lessons with AC Bushnell*! Christopher J. The Stillhouse Bottom Band was asked to support the NC Botanical Garden in their efforts to preserve this unique area in Chapel Hill. Our band was named after this nature preserve! Both Weaver Street Market and the Carolina Brewery are contributing sponsors, so flavorful food and tasty drink will be available at no charge for the evening from several caterers! The Botanical Garden is requesting a $20 minimum donation which will go toward purchasing additional lands for one of Chapel Hill's most significant natural areas. Attendees will also have the opportunity to sign up for tours of Stillhouse Bottom Nature Preserve. (See below for further information about this natural area.) The Stillhouse Bottom natural area is the only undisturbed, steep, north-facing ravine left in Orange County. Preservation of this site is a conservation priority for the state of North Carolina, Orange County, and the North Carolina Botanical Garden. Over 100 plant species have been identified, many of which are unique to this area of North Carolina. On a larger landscape scale, Stillhouse Bottom is part of the 187-acre Morgan Creek Bluffs Natural Area and comprises the upper portion of the Jordan Lake Macrosite?a NC Natural Heritage Program designation for a large area of biodiversity significance. The Stillhouse Bottom natural area comprises the 17-acre Stillhouse Bottom Nature Preserve and approximately 35 acres of undeveloped private properties. Stillhouse Bottom Nature Preserve is owned by the Botanical Garden Foundation, Inc., the non-profit membership support organization of the Garden, and is a dedicated and permanently protected North Carolina Nature Preserve. The Foundation also holds conservation easements on 12 acres of contiguous private land to the south and west of the Stillhouse Bottom Nature Preserve. The Botanical Garden Foundation seeks to add all available undeveloped properties to the Stillhouse Bottom Nature Preserve through land donation and purchase, and through conservation easements. The Stillhouse Bottom Band is in good playing form and are ready to play for you! Please come enjoy an evening of good food, drink and music in support of one of Chapel Hill's most pristine natural areas. An rsvp is preferred but not required by the NC Botanical Garden by November 13 at 962-0522. Please see the attachment for more information about this event and some beautiful photos to boot of the Stillhouse Bottom Nature Preserve! I hope to see you there, AC
